Putting chemicals in the water to turn the creatures into mutants by Penguin

Format: Commander

Commander: Jenova, Ancient Calamity

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Golgari +1/+1 counters midrange deck helmed by Jenova, Ancient Calamity. The plan is to ramp into Jenova, load counters onto a second body (turning it into a Mutant), then either smash through with oversized tramplers/menace threats or deliberately sacrifice those Mutants on your turn to draw huge piles of cards off Jenova's death trigger. Counter doublers (Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace) and movers (Reyhan, Last of the Abzan, Host of the Hereafter, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire) turn modest combat triggers into exponential growth. Primary wins are combat damage from inflated Mutants and a table-wide drain via Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord; secondary value comes from aristocrats-style sacrifice draw (Greater Good, Life's Legacy, Disciple of Bolas) and recursive reanimation. There are no infinite combo lines-the deck wins by grinding value and closing with oversized threats.
