Deck overview

This Dimir Zombie deck is built around Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, focusing on sacrifice synergies, token generation, and tribal combat buffs. The primary strategy establishes early Zombie creatures, lands Wilhelt on Turn 4 to convert dying creatures into decayed tokens and steady card draw, and builds a wide battlefield of undead threats. By Turn 7, the deck reaches critical onset through mass token spells like Army of the Damned or overlapping lords such as Death Baron, Lord of the Accursed, and Eternal Skylord. The deck closes games around Turn 9 through evasive combat damage combined with life-draining death triggers from Diregraf Captain. While the engine exhibits strong card flow and reliable recovery through graveyard recursion spells like Zombie Apocalypse and Gisa and Geralf, it lacks countermagic and stack protection, making it vulnerable to exile sweepers and faster combo decks.
