Deck overview

This is an Abzan toughness-matters deck built around Doran, Besieged by Time. It plays high-toughness creatures and uses Assault Formation, Bark of Doran, The Kingpin of Crime, or Baldin, Century Herdmaster to make them assign combat damage equal to toughness. Doran discounts those spells and, during attacks and blocks, pumps each creature by the difference between its power and toughness, turning 0/5s into 10/14+ attackers. Lifegain from Wall of Reverence, Essence Warden, and Food is converted into cards, toughness counters, and damage through Well of Lost Dreams, Treebeard, and Sanguine Bond. The deck finishes with an alpha strike or a huge Jumbo Cactuar life-gain turn.
