Parnesse, the Subtle No by user2341770

Format: Commander

Commander: Parnesse, the Subtle Brush

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Grixis control/stax deck helmed by Parnesse, the Subtle Brush, built to grind the table into submission through a dense web of taxing enchantments, symmetrical hate pieces, and efficient removal. The primary game plan is to lock down opponents' ability to develop boards (via Aether Barrier, Pendrell Mists, Propaganda, Smoke, Stranglehold, and similar) while assembling one of several infinite combos in the 99: Basalt Monolith + Power Artifact for infinite mana (then Torment of Hailfire or Triskelion), Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion for infinite damage, or Repercussion + a mass damage spell like Blasphemous Act to kill the table. The commander's defensive trigger (opponents pay 4 life or their spell/ability is countered) discourages interaction and buys time, but the deck does not depend on Parnesse to win. It is a slow, resilient war-of-attrition deck that eventually pivots to a compact combo finish.
