Deck overview

This deck is an explosive mono-red aggro-burn strategy piloted by Smaug the Magnificent. The deck leverages rapid artifact mana and early Treasure generation to deploy Smaug ahead of curve on Turn 4. Taking immediate advantage of his native haste, Smaug converts a growing hoard of Treasures into pinpoint direct damage upon declaring an attack. Mid-game payoffs like Goldspan Dragon, The Reaver Cleaver, Ancient Copper Dragon, and Descent into Avernus rapidly compound Treasure production into double-digit stockpiles, turning Smaug's attack triggers and group-slug artifacts like Ingenious Artillerist into lethal table-wide burn. The deck is reinforced by an exceptionally efficient mono-red protection and interaction suite featuring Deflecting Swat, Bolt Bend, Commander's Plate, and Blasphemous Act. Across ordinary sequencing, the deck reaches critical onset on Turn 5 and eliminates all three opponents by Turn 7.
