Deck overview

This deck executes a powerful Mono-Black Reanimator and Big-Mana Attrition game plan centered around Valgavoth, Terror Eater and massive graveyard targets. During the opening turns, the deck accelerates mana using efficient rocks, rituals, and mana doublers while filtering high-cost threats like Vilis, Broker of Blood, Hoarding Broodlord, and Brainstealer Dragon into the graveyard via Buried Alive or discard outlets. By Turn 4, cheap reanimation spells return these behemoths to draw massive amounts of cards or tutor key pieces. On Turn 5, deploying Valgavoth or triggering symmetric discard spells such as Mindslicer and Awaken the Erstwhile turns symmetrical attrition into an asymmetric rout. Valgavoth exiles all opponent discards and lets you cast their spells by paying life. Protected by a punishing Ward cost and lethal flying bodies, the deck rapidly eliminates the table through combat damage and stolen spells by Turn 7.
