Deck overview

This mono-black deck harnesses Olinda the Oblivious to orchestrate a relentless group slug and life-drain strategy. Olinda marks opposing creatures with odor counters that inflict 2 life loss during each opponent's upkeep. Because these counters remain active even after Olinda leaves the battlefield, the deck creates persistent, unyielding attrition. The 99 is packed with complementary punishers that tax every fundamental game action: Polluted Bonds and Ankh of Mishra penalize land drops, Painful Quandary and Rug of Smothering punish spellcasting, Tainted Aether restricts creature entries, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Underworld Dreams turn opposing card draw into lethal damage.
