Deck overview

This Dimir control deck utilizes Phenax, God of Deception to convert massive defensive toughness into game-ending mill pressure. In the early game, the deck establishes mana rocks and high-toughness blockers like Charix, the Raging Isle, The Ancient One, and Wall of Frost. Once Phenax enters the battlefield, these creatures tap to mill substantial chunks of opposing libraries on each end step. The deck escalates rapidly through mill doublers such as Bruvac the Grandiloquent, continuous untap engines like Eater of the Dead and Pemmin's Aura, and compact win conditions like Duskmantle Guildmage paired with Mindcrank. Strong asymmetric disruption—including Ashiok, Dream Render, Dauthi Voidwalker, Leyline of the Void, and Notion Thief—neutralizes opposing graveyard strategies and card draw while the deck methodically empties all three opposing libraries.
