Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger control strategy that weaponizes noncreature spells to drain opponents while refilling your hand. Built around Y'shtola, Night's Blessed, the deck converts every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater into direct damage to all opponents and life gain for you, effortlessly enabling Y'shtola's end-step card draw. The early game focuses on developing mana rocks, establishing pillowfort defenses like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, and disrupting opposing game plans with efficient countermagic and removal. In the mid-to-late game, the deck accelerates its life-drain clock through amplifiers like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, and Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian. It finishes games through continuous spellslinging attrition, massive Exsanguinate casts, or the game-ending two-card combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond.
