Deck overview

This deck is a classic mono-black Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy led by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary objective is to establish an early curve of synergistic Zombies, deploy Gisa on Turn 5, and convert high-power or recurring creatures like Gravecrawler and Diregraf Colossus into swarms of 2/2 Zombie tokens. Once the board goes wide, anthem effects such as Death Baron, Cemetery Reaper, and Undead Warchief give the army combat evasion and lethal power. In parallel, death-drain engines like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel provide non-combat reach to close out games. While the deck boasts immense redundancy in creature bodies and recursion tools, it lacks unconditional tutors, fast mana, and dedicated protective spells, making it susceptible to well-timed board wipes and heavy interaction.
