Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Hazel of the Rootbloom to build an explosive token and aristocrats engine. Early turns focus on ramping and establishing incidental tokens through cards like Gilded Goose, Bitterbloom Bearer, and Squirrel Nest. Once Hazel enters on Turn 4, her end step ability duplicates existing tokens, generating rapid board growth. Hazel also converts tapped tokens into large bursts of mana, accelerating high-impact threats like Deep Forest Hermit, Chatterfang, and Tendershoot Dryad. The deck converts its wide board into victory through dual pathways: overwhelming combat damage with tribal amplifiers like The Odd Acorn Gang and Valley Rotcaller, or non-combat life drain via Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Nadier's Nightblade when tokens die. Supported by strong card draw engines like Skullclamp and Plumb the Forbidden, the deck maintains steady pressure while recovering smoothly from conventional disruption.
