Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu control and reanimator strategy commander deck led by Piru, the Volatile. It pairs asymmetric stax pieces like Rule of Law, Deafening Silence, and Eidolon of Rhetoric with a devastating Kamigawa Spirit Dragon reanimation package. The deck ramps early into Iname, Death Aspect, Buried Alive, or Entomb to fill the graveyard with legendary Dragons such as Kokusho, the Evening Star, Yosei, the Morning Star, Ao, the Dawn Sky, Atsushi, the Blazing Sky, Junji, the Midnight Sky, and Ryusei, the Falling Star. A single mass reanimation spell like Living Death or Patriarch's Bidding resets opposing boards while reviving an army of flying threats. With Dragon Tempest or Rising of the Day, the revived dragons immediately deal massive burn damage and swing for lethal combat, while death triggers from Kokusho and Yosei punish any opposing attempts to sweep the board.
