Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and token swarm deck commanded by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The strategy revolves around casting high-mana-value instants and sorceries—often discounted via delve, cost reducers, or alternative costs—to trigger Rootha's combat ability and generate massive X/X flying, haste Elemental creature tokens. Early turns focus on establishing mana velocity with low-CMC artifacts and cost-reducing creatures like Stormcatch Mentor and Thunderclap Drake. Once Rootha is deployed, spells like Dig Through Time, Treasure Cruise, and Big Score produce immediate, high-powered aerial threats at significant tempo discounts. The deck scales into a lethal win condition on Turns 6 to 8 by leveraging token multipliers like Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer and Rionya, Fire Dancer to turn accumulated Treasures and creature tokens into an overwhelming flying army. Supported by flexible interaction and delve card draw, the list delivers explosive mid-game combat pressure.
