Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Tribal Tribal strategy built around Reaper King and a high density of Shapeshifters with the changeling mechanic. Because changelings possess every creature type simultaneously, they trigger and benefit from the most powerful specialized tribal payoffs across Magic history. The primary game plan focuses on fixing all five colors in the early turns through mana slivers, mana rocks, and Guildgates, then deploying Reaper King on Turn 5. Once the commander is in play, every subsequent cheap changeling acts as a targeted removal spell, systematically destroying opposing lands, commanders, and key permanents to lock out the table. The deck supplements this removal engine with game-ending tribal payoffs like Gilt-Leaf Archdruid to steal entire land bases, Captivating Vampire to steal creatures, and Liliana's Contract as an alternate win condition. While vulnerable to early aggro and instant-speed removal before engines go online, its versatility and asymmetric attrition dominate slower battlefields.
