Etali, Primal Thief by Minecision

Format: Commander

Commander: Etali, Primal Conqueror // Etali, Primal Sickness

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul ramp-and-cheat list built around Etali, Primal Conqueror. The front face is a seven-mana value engine: it exiles into a nonland from each library and lets you cast those spells for free, so one resolution becomes a burst of stolen haymakers. A dedicated copy suite - Twinflame, Heat Shimmer, Molten Duplication, Electroduplicate, Rionya, Fire Dancer, Helm of the Host, Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink, and Blade of Selves - restages that ETB, while Conjurer's Closet and Sword of Hearth and Home flicker Etali for encore triggers. The back face, Etali, Primal Sickness, is a nine-mana transform into an indestructible 11/11 that poisons anyone it connects with; myriad makes that a table-wide kill. Independent of the command zone, the 99 still ramps into Apex Devastator and Trumpeting Carnosaur, finishes with Unnatural Growth and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, and grinds with Food Chain, Underworld Breach, and Portal to Phyrexia.
