Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive mono-red midrange build focused on generating large quantities of Treasure tokens to fuel Smaug the Magnificent's devastating attack trigger. The primary strategy accelerates into Smaug on Turn 3 or 4 using cheap artifacts, Auras, and Backgrounds such as Guild Artisan and Sticky Fingers. Once deployed, Smaug converts each combat into direct burn scaling with your hoard, controlling opposing boards or heavily damaging opponents. Mid-to-late game powerhouses like Goldspan Dragon, Hellkite Tyrant, and Craterclaw Colossus capitalize on accumulated artifacts to provide game-ending bursts of combat damage and alternate win conditions. The deck backs up its proactive game plan with redirect spells and red interaction to shield its commander from targeted removal.
