Deck overview

This Golgari deck blends Frog-tribal synergies with a dedicated lands-matter midrange strategy commanded by The Gitrog Monster. Rather than pursuing competitive combo lines, the deck leverages a dense 42-land base and ramp spells like Harrow and Arcane Signet to deploy Gitrog reliably by Turn 5. Once assembled, Gitrog converts upkeep land sacrifices and extra land drops into steady card advantage, supported by land recursion engines like Conduit of Worlds and Undergrowth Recon. The deck transitions into the late game by deploying massive beaters, headlined by the vanilla 18/6 Yargle and Multani. It achieves critical threat onset around Turn 7 by resolving game-ending overrun effects such as Overwhelming Stampede or Unnatural Growth, dealing overwhelming trampling combat damage to wipe out the table over 1 to 2 attack cycles. While resilient in recovering its big creatures, the deck remains vulnerable to well-timed creature removal and lacks countermagic.
