Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Jeskai combat spellslinger strategy commanded by Massimo, the Magician. The game plan revolves around binning high-utility 1-mana instants and sorceries—such as Boltwave, Ponder, and Path to Exile—and using Massimo's enter-the-battlefield trigger to exile them onto unblockable or double-striking attackers. When these creatures deal combat damage, they cast free copies of the exiled spells, generating runaway card velocity, creature tokens, and direct burn. Supported by token engines like Monastery Mentor and Third Path Iconoclast, alongside damage multipliers like Delney, Streetwise Lookout and Fiery Inscription, the deck rapidly scales combat damage into full-table lethality by Turn 6. An elite suite of free protection spells defends the board, while redundant spellslinger engines allow the deck to pivot smoothly even if the commander is removed.
