Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. It takes full advantage of its commander's Eminence ability to reduce the cost of all Sphinx spells by {1} straight from the command zone. Supported by low-cost mana rocks and tribal reducers like Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn, the deck accelerates into powerful 5- and 6-drop Sphinxes as early as Turn 4. Key engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Consecrated Sphinx, and Kindred Discovery provide overwhelming card advantage, quickly filling the battlefield with massive flying creatures. The deck defends its board and disrupts opposing game plans using an elite package of cheap counterspells and spot removal. One-sided board wipes like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance clear away opposing blockers, enabling a lethal aerial assault by Turn 7.
