Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros midrange reanimator strategy helmed by Excava, the Risen Past. The primary game plan revolves around rapidly filling the graveyard during the early turns using efficient looting and rummaging spells such as Faithless Looting, Demand Answers, and Thrill of Possibility. On Turn 4, casting Excava allows you to attack immediately thanks to haste, triggering its ability to return high-impact 3-mana permanents directly to the battlefield as flying Spirits. The deck capitalizes on this reanimation engine by recurring combat-multiplying threats like Combat Celebrant and Fear of Missing Out, value engines like Serra Paragon, and defensive staples like Selfless Spirit. As the game progresses into Turns 5 through 7, the board widens into an evasive aerial army boosted by anthems such as Hofri Ghostforge, Drogskol Reinforcements, or an overrun finisher via Moonshaker Cavalry. Resilient protection spells and efficient spot removal safeguard this offensive tempo to close out games.
