Commander: Chatterfang, Squirrel General

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Squirrel-token swarm helmed by Chatterfang, Squirrel General. Its core strategy is to create a relentless tide of 1/1 Squirrel tokens-amplified by Chatterfang's replacement effect that adds an extra Squirrel for each token created-and then overwhelm opponents through combat (Beastmaster Ascension, Preposterous Proportions, End-Raze Forerunners) or drain effects (Bastion of Remembrance, Zulaport Cutthroat, Syr Konrad, the Grim). The deck also leverages Food and Treasure token synergies for mana and card advantage. While it lacks infinite combos, it generates copious value from token-producing permanents like Squirrel Nest, Chitterspitter, and Tireless Provisioner, supported by repeatable draw engines such as Skullclamp and Idol of Oblivion. The commander provides flexible spot removal via its activated ability, keeping the board manageable until the swarm is unstoppable.
