Deck overview
This Mardu deck is a themed combat reanimator build led by Terra, Herald of Hope, celebrating the characters and lore of Final Fantasy VI. The deck's primary engine uses Terra's combat trigger to mill two cards and grant flying, followed by paying two mana on combat connection to reanimate utility creatures such as Priest of Fell Rites, Morbid Opportunist, and General Leo Cristophe. These creatures build board presence, draw cards, and facilitate secondary reanimation of devastating top-end threats including Sepulchral Primordial, Flayer of the Hatebound, and Archfiend of Depravity. Lacking high-density tutors and fast mana, the deck functions primarily as an exhibition midrange value engine, leveraging natural draws, self-mill, and discard outlets to stock the graveyard. While highly resilient to single-target removal thanks to redundant reanimation spells and commander recursion, the deck remains vulnerable to dedicated graveyard exile and aggressive combo pacing.
