Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

A Grixis reanimator engine helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The early game is all about filling the graveyard with oversized demons, then cheating them into play for pennies. Sauron himself is the deck's second engine: every opponent spell amasses an Orc Army, Army hits trigger the Ring, and each Ring-tempt lets Sauron discard the hand to draw four, supercharging discard payoffs like Bone Miser and Archfiend of Ifnir. The primary win path is simply combat - evasive, value-laden reanimated monsters (Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Toxrill, the Corrosive, The Balrog of Moria) backed by mass-reanimation bombs Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins by grinding card advantage, recursion, and relentless 6/6-8/8 beaters. Notably, the reanimator shell functions reasonably well even if Sauron is repeatedly answered.
