Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Lifegain Combo and Midrange strategy commanded by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The primary game plan revolves around assembling the two-card infinite drain loop between Exquisite Blood and a lifegain-to-damage payoff such as Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity. Supported by 6 pieces of low-cost ramp and solid card filtering from cards like Dark Confidant and Phyrexian Arena, the deck ordinarily establishes its combo pieces between Turns 4 and 5 to eliminate all three opponents in a single turn. When the combo is disrupted or pieces are delayed, the deck seamlessly transitions into a resilient midrange beatdown strategy. Betor, Ancestor's Voice scales friendly creatures with +1/+1 counters equal to life gained while repeatedly reanimating low-cost utility creatures from the graveyard. Backed by efficient white and black exile removal and robust board protection, the deck applies steady pressure while threatening an instant finish.
