RAL IZZET by user8118108

Format: Commander

Commander: Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy is an Izzet storm-control shell. The front face is the critical engine, reducing instant and sorcery costs and transforming after a won coin flip; the planeswalker back supplies extra cost reduction, card draw, and an ultimate that can deploy the top of the library. The deck wins primarily by chaining cantrips, rituals, and copy spells into a lethal storm (Brain Freeze or Grapeshot), with an Underworld Breach graveyard loop and an infinite Reiterate/ritual/Storm-Kiln Artist loop as its most compact lines. Secondary beats come from Colorstorm Stallion, transformed Emperor of Palamecia, and the planeswalker's -2. The commander is strong but not strictly required; the deck has multiple non-commander cost reducers and rituals.
