Deck overview

This Mardu Aikido control deck is piloted by Queen Marchesa. It turns opposing combat aggression into self-destructive attrition. The deck uses low-cost mana rocks to deploy early defensive pieces like Ghostly Prison and Breena, the Demagogue, followed quickly by Marchesa to claim the Monarch. By directing attacks away from the pilot with goad cards such as Disrupt Decorum, Kardur, Doomscourge, and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, the deck forces opponents to deplete each other's life totals. A vast suite of reactive instants, including Deflecting Palm, Comeuppance, Inkshield, and Delirium, punishes any player attempting a game-winning attack. Sunforger acts as an adaptable toolbox engine, fetching the exact answer or finisher needed for the situation. Once opponents are sufficiently weakened, the deck closes the game using evasive Inkling tokens, direct redirection burn, or high-impact finishers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Price of Progress.
