Deck overview

This deck is a high-speed Selesnya Voltron deck built around Sergeant John Benton. By utilizing 8 one-mana ramp spells, the deck consistently casts its commander on Turn 2. Because John Benton has native haste, trample, and draws cards equal to the combat damage he deals, any modest power boost immediately cascades into an overwhelming grip of cards. The deck leverages explosive pump spells such as Invigorate, Scale Up, and Become Immense alongside double strike enablers like Flaming Fist and Duelist's Heritage to eliminate opponents through 21 commander damage in single swings. The flood of card advantage fuels a deep suite of 1-mana protection spells, including Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Blossoming Defense, shielding Benton from opposing interaction. The deck aims to eliminate players one by one between Turns 3 and 5 while holding up multiple layers of instant-speed defense.
