Deck overview

This Silverquill deck operates as an Orzhov spellslinger-aristocrats hybrid helmed by Silverquill, the Disputant. The strategy centers on establishing cheap creature fodder and token generators, such as Dwarven Castle Guard, Inside Source, and Broodrage Mycoid, before resolving the commander on Turn 4. Once in play, the commander grants casualty 1 to all instants and sorceries, allowing the deck to sacrifice disposable tokens to copy targeted combat tricks, removal spells, and cantrips. These death triggers fuel drain pieces like Bastion of Remembrance and Arnyn, Deathbloom Botanist while repressing opposing boards through doubled removal spells such as Bitter Triumph and Long Goodbye. The deck reaches a critical must-answer board state around Turn 8 through wide token swarms and drain pressure, closing out opponents on Turn 10. While resilient to targeted removal thanks to redundant graveyard recursion, the deck is vulnerable to noncreature permanents due to a lack of artifact and enchantment removal.
