Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange strategy built around Sauron, the Dark Lord, combining the Amass Orcs mechanic with the Ring Tempts You engine. The deck spends early turns developing mana and deploying incremental Amass enablers like Call of the Ring and March from the Black Gate. On Turn 6, casting Sauron immediately shifts the game state: every opponent spell grows an Orc Army, and whenever an Army damages a player, Sauron allows discarding a spent hand to draw four fresh cards. Sauron's punishing Ward protects him from most targeted removal, fueling a compounding card-flow engine. The deck wins by converting this card advantage into overwhelming combat damage, using finishers like Assault on Osgiliath for team-wide double strike, Lord of the Nazgûl for lethal Wraith swarms, or Sauron, the Lidless Eye activations. While thin ramp and reliance on combat connections slow its clock, its resilient card advantage and passive deterrence make it a grindy threat.
