Deck overview

This Jund deck is commanded by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, an attrition engine that turns -1/-1 counter distribution into card advantage and life drain. The deck leverages wither, blight, and mass counter-placement to dismantle opposing boards while generating resources. By deploying enablers like Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Carnifex Demon, and Sinister Gnarlbark, it continuously draws cards when blighting its own creatures and burns opponents when shrinking theirs. As the game transitions into the midgame, lock pieces such as Kulrath Knight render opposing boards unable to attack or block, enabling unhindered combat damage alongside life drain from Lasting Tarfire and Grave Venerations. Additionally, the deck contains the infinite creature-death loop of Blowfly Infestation and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons. Strong spot removal and resilient backup commanders like The Scorpion God provide sustained midgame dominance.
