Deck overview

This deck executes an evasive aggro-control strategy led by Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor. By deploying an array of low-mana unblockable and flying creatures during the opening turns, the deck leverages Gix's combat damage trigger to draw two to three extra cards every turn starting on Turn 3. This rapid card velocity refills the hand, smooths land drops, and digs into premium mono-black acceleration like Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Grim Hireling. Rather than grinding through combat damage alone, the deck pivots around Turn 6 into devastating life-drain finishers, deploying Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Psychosis Crawler, or Peer into the Abyss. Supported by ultra-efficient removal like Deadly Rollick and Snuff Out, the list maintains tempo while outpacing opponents in raw card flow.
