Deck overview

This Orzhov deck uses MacCready, Lamplight Mayor to grant skulk to low-power infect and toxic creatures, allowing them to slip past large blockers and deliver initial poison counters. Once opponents are poisoned, the deck accelerates the clock using repeatable proliferate engines such as Contagion Clasp, Metastatic Evangel, and Grateful Apparition. It controls incoming damage through pillowfort elements like Meekstone, Ghostly Prison, and MacCready's defensive trigger, which punishes high-power attackers. Efficient spot removal such as Swords to Plowshares and asymmetric board clears like The Battle of Bywater ensure the path stays clear for small attackers. The deck consistently achieves critical poison pressure around Turn 5 and closes games by Turn 7.
