Mastering The Moment by user2788260

Format: Commander

Commander: Vivi Ornitier

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Vivi Ornitier is a spellslinger commander who turns noncreature casts into a growing pinnacle and ritual mana. The deck's primary plan is to land Vivi early, chain cantrips and cost-reduced instants/sorceries to scale her power, then use her activated ability to bank large amounts of U/R mana for a massive X spell or a copied finisher. Secondary paths include token spam through Manaform Hellkite and Prismari Pianist, then converting those tokens into attackers via Brudiclad or Rionya, or using Underworld Breach and Mystic Sanctuary to loop key spells. The hidden commander is Rootha, Mastering the Moment, which rewards casting instants and sorceries with a huge evasive token and can be copied via the izzet spell chain. The deck aims to win through combat damage from an overwhelming board fueled by copied spells and extra combat steps, with a backup of direct damage pings from Vivi and Lindblum tokens. Rootha, Mercurial Artist provides recursive copy utility. The deck is highly redundant on spellslinger payoffs and has sufficient interaction to protect the chain, though it can stumble on mana and lacks a dedicated combo line.
