B3- Why is Faldorn So Good? by DoomedQuaker

Format: Commander

Commander: Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 32

Deck overview

This deck uses Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald to convert exile-based card advantage into an aggressive 2/2 green Wolf token army. By chaining cascade spells, impulse draws, adventures, and foretell cards, the list maintains steady card flow while building board presence without expending extra cards from hand. Green ramp accelerates Faldorn onto the battlefield on early turns, followed by continuous exile triggers from engines like Valakut Exploration, Visions of Phyrexia, and Bonehoard Dracosaur. The deck closes out games through wide combat swings augmented by Beastmaster Ascension, Thunderfoot Baloth, and Tovolar, Dire Overlord, or via asymmetric direct damage from Passionate Archaeologist and Keeper of Secrets. While the engine is resilient and generates compounding battlefield value, the list lacks stack interaction and tutor density, making it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes.
