Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered combo-ramp hybrid led by Azlask, the Swelling Scourge. While the commander and high-cost Eldrazi titans like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger provide an aggressive board presence and token scaling, the primary strategic focus is assembling compact combo wins. The deck utilizes efficient fast mana such as Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Birds of Paradise to quickly power into universal tutors like Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor. By Turn 4, the deck reliably initiates a game-ending Thassa's Oracle and Tainted Pact sequence, with Underworld Breach storm lines and Basking Broodscale infinite token loops serving as independent backup win conditions. Powerful card draw engines like Rhystic Study, Necropotence, and Sylvan Library keep resources flowing. The deck's main vulnerability lies in its minimal reactive countermagic, making it reliant on proactive anti-counter creatures like Hexing Squelcher to force through its winning spells.
