Deck overview

This is a Gruul Wolf and Werewolf tribal aggro deck helmed by Tovolar, Dire Overlord. The plan is straightforward: flood the board with Wolves and Human Werewolves, flip the day/night cycle to power up the pack, and convert combat damage into cards via Tovolar's trigger. Once the board is wide, finishers like Unnatural Growth, Overrun, and Berserkers' Onslaught push lethal trample damage across the table. Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge's activated pump supplies on-demand trample and reach. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through combat inevitability, token swarms from Howl of the Night Pack and Tovolar's Huntmaster, and lord effects such as Nightpack Ambusher and nightbound Kessig Naturalist. Tovolar is the primary card-advantage engine and night enabler, but the 99 still presents a functional beatdown plan without him.
