Deck overview

The Serpent Society is a deathtouch-matters attrition deck. Cheap snakes, scorpions, and insect mutants form a wall of must-trade bodies, while the commander converts each deathtouch death into a one-sided Edict. Secondary paths are poison counters from the two Toxic creatures, Radioactive Man's life-halving hits, and end-step drain from Fandaniel, Braids, Bastion, and Cauldron. There is no double-faced commander; the DFCs in the 99 are support pieces, with Vincent Valentine's front side doing the work and Dusk Sight used as a graveyard-exiling cantrip. The deck lacks a compact finisher and wins by grinding out the table with incremental damage, card draw, and recursion.
