Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan midrange strategy centered on the partner pairing of Sam, Loyal Attendant and Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit. The early game focuses on deploying both commanders by Turn 3 to establish a reliable engine: Sam creates a Food token at combat and discounts Food activations, allowing Frodo to attack, advance the Ring tempt mechanic, and draw an extra card each turn. As the game develops into the middle turns, the deck amasses Food and creature tokens using cards like Peregrin Took, Jaheira, Friend of the Forest, and Tireless Provisioner. Victory is achieved around Turn 9 through non-combat life drain via Mirkwood Bats and Sanguine Bond, or through wide combat overruns powered by Assemble the Entmoot and Pippin, Warden of Isengard. While resilient in card advantage, the deck is vulnerable to sweepers and lacks stack interaction.
