Deck overview

This is a classic Azorius control and prison list helmed by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. The game plan is to tax the table with the commander's cost increase, layer pillowfort enchantments and behavioral stax, then out-resource opponents through efficient card selection and a dense counter suite. Wins come from resolving extra-turn spells into a locked board, assembling an alternate-win permanent such as Triskaidekaphile or Laboratory Maniac, or closing with token swarms from Entreat the Angels and Martial Coup. Grand Arbiter Augustin IV is a powerful accelerator and tax piece but is not required for the deck's engines or win conditions; the 99 functions as a self-contained control shell. The list plays a patient, reactive game that gradually freezes the table and converts card advantage into a decisive extra-turn or hand-size finish.
