Deck overview

Felothar the Steadfast leads an Abzan toughness-matters combat deck designed to turn cheap, high-toughness defenders into formidable attackers. The early game focuses on deploying efficient walls and mana dorks like Overgrown Battlement and Wall of Blossoms. Once Felothar or Doran hits the board on Turn 4, every defender attacks using its toughness for combat damage. The commander also serves as a massive card-draw engine: because defenders have 0 power, Felothar draws cards equal to their toughness without forcing any discards. The deck breaks parity using one-sided board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Wave of Reckoning, which annihilate high-power opposing boards while leaving your walls untouched. It closes games by Turn 8 through wide unblockable attacks enabled by Sidar Kondo or massive toughness pumps from Tower Defense and Unnatural Growth.
