Deck overview

Otharri, Suns' Glory commands an aggressive Boros go-wide token strategy that leverages experience counters to establish an exponential combat clock. The deck accelerates into an early Turn 4 commander cast, attacking immediately with haste to start generating 2/2 Rebel tokens. Because experience counters stay on the player rather than the permanent, the engine retains its momentum even through removal. High-density multipliers such as Shared Animosity, Cathars' Crusade, Goldnight Commander, and Purphoros, God of the Forge rapidly turn small attacking forces into lethal table-wide damage. A robust defensive package—featuring free spells like Flawless Maneuver and Deflecting Swat, along with mass phasing from Clever Concealment—protects the board against sweepers. While lacking infinite combos and tutors, the deck uses strong functional redundancy, extra combat steps, and commander recursion to close games reliably by Turn 7.
