Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Esper Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy led by Varina, Lich Queen. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost Zombie creatures to establish board presence and fix mana. Once Varina enters on turn 4, combat attacks trigger large-scale looting that fills the graveyard, refines the hand, and generates Zombie tokens. The mid-game leverages powerful black tutors like Demonic Tutor and Entomb alongside recurring creatures such as Gravecrawler and Master of Death. The primary victory path is an infinite aristocrats drain loop using Gravecrawler, Phyrexian Altar, and drain pieces like Wayward Servant or Corpse Knight, reliably finishing the game on turn 5. Alternatively, the deck can overwhelm tables through mass reanimation with Zombie Apocalypse or unblockable combat damage with Akroma's Will. Free protection spells like Fierce Guardianship and Flawless Maneuver defend key turns.
