Deck overview

This Bant deck is an aggressive, combat-focused midrange engine commanded by Arcades, the Strategist. The core game plan revolves around exploiting low-mana, high-toughness defender creatures that function as massive, undercosted attackers while cantripping on entry under Arcades. The deck accelerates through a dense 1-2 CMC ramp package, deploys Arcades on Turn 4, and immediately pivots into rapid card velocity and heavy board presence. Opponents are pressured starting on Turn 5 with high-toughness swings supported by evasion pieces like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa. While heavily reliant on Arcades' static ability, the deck incorporates functional redundancies such as Assault Formation and High Alert, asymmetric sweepers like Expel the Interlopers, and continuous artifact/enchantment control through Aura Shards to close out the game by Turn 7.
