Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Elf tribal strategy helmed by High Perfect Morcant that blends swarm combat with -1/-1 counter attrition and poison proliferation. Early turns focus on developing mana dorks and establishing a board of low-cost Elves. Once Morcant enters, every new Elf blights opposing boards, placing -1/-1 counters that suppress utility creatures and small commanders. The deck introduces poison counters to all opponents through combat damage or direct spells like Vraska's Fall and Phyresis Outbreak, then rapidly ticks those counters up to lethal levels using Morcant's proliferate engine alongside support from Contagion Engine and Tromell, Seymour's Butler. If the proliferate line is contested, the deck seamlessly transitions into a traditional Elf swarm finish utilizing Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes, or Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The list generates steady creature control and compounding board advantage.
