Deck overview

This Liesa, Shroud of Dusk deck is a competitive Orzhov Stax and Combo list designed to strangle high-speed multiplayer tables before closing with compact artifact win conditions. In the opening turns, the deck deploys premier hatebears and taxing permanents—including Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, Deafening Silence, Opposition Agent, and Rest in Peace—to dismantle opposing tutors, storm sequences, and graveyard strategies. Liesa, Shroud of Dusk breaks parity by bypassing commander tax with life payments and taxing every spell cast at the table, using her 5/5 flying lifelink frame to keep your life total elevated. Once opponents are constrained, the deck protects its closing window using proactive silence effects like Grand Abolisher, Ranger-Captain of Eos, and Silence. It then transitions into an immediate same-turn kill via Bolas's Citadel, Sensei's Divining Top, and Aetherflux Reservoir, or exiles libraries with Helm of Obedience. This fusion of suffocating denial and decisive combo execution creates a relentless competitive engine.
