Deck overview

Blech, Loafing Pest leads a Golgari midrange deck that blends lifegain synergies with +1/+1 counters across specific creature types: Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. The deck uses low-cost ramp to cast Blech on Turn 3, then activates lifegain triggers via Prosperous Innkeeper, Pristine Talisman, and attacking creatures to rapidly grow its swarm. Mid-game engines like Corpsejack Menace, Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist, and Blight Mound amplify token generation and counter output. Because the list does not run fast mana or infinite combos, it aims to win through overwhelming combat steps empowered by Overwhelming Stampede, Triumph of the Hordes, or Blossoming Bogbeast, supplemented by direct life-drain attrition from Dina, Soul Steeper and Starscape Cleric. While vulnerable to mass removal due to light protection, it maintains steady resilience through token recursion and robust creature density.
