Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses an early swarm of low-cost mana dorks and creature tokens to cast its commander, Witherbloom, the Balancer, for as little as two mana. Once Witherbloom enters the battlefield, it gives all instant and sorcery spells affinity for creatures. This discount reduces high-mana sorceries like Army of the Damned, Majestic Genesis, and Genesis Wave down to just their colored mana pips. The deck converts small board presences into massive card draw through Shamanic Revelation and Stargaze, rapidly finding finishers. It can win via combat overrun with large token armies or drain the entire table using affinity-discounted X-spells like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate. It also features an infinite token loop using Sprout Swarm alongside the commander. The deck trades proactive shielding for sheer card velocity and mana efficiency, recovering quickly from disruption by generating tokens in large bursts.
