Deck overview

This deck leverages Doctor Doom, King of Latveria at the helm of a dedicated Grixis Villain tribal and discard attrition strategy. The game plan focuses on deploying efficient mana acceleration into low-cost Villains, setting up Doctor Doom on Turn 4 to consistently grant menace and trigger connive. Connive filtering feeds graveyard synergies, generates +1/+1 counters, and triggers Doom's land-discard life drain across the table. Payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, and Cool but Rude turn routine card filtering into asymmetric creature wipes and compounding burn. High-quality interaction such as Deflecting Swat, Deadly Rollick, and Force of Negation protects the engine while disrupting opposing strategies, leading to a coordinated combat and life-drain finish around Turn 7.
