Deck overview

The deck uses The Ur-Sphinx as an accessible tribal cost reducer while building toward Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, whose four-card pile selections turn each Sphinx into card advantage. Mana rocks and tribal reducers make the expensive creature base more manageable, and cards such as Kindred Discovery, Rhystic Study, Black Market Connections, and Consecrated Sphinx can compound the advantage. The deck also carries strong spot removal, sweepers, and counterspells. Its main weakness is that its value engine is much easier to assemble than its actual win. Medomai the Ageless, Magister Sphinx, Tivit, Seller of Secrets, and The Ur-Sphinx provide pressure, but they do not form a supported compact kill. The ordinary game plan is to establish a large flying board, gain cards from Sphinx triggers, and use interaction to protect incremental advantage. It is a general-power tribal deck rather than a cEDH construction.
