Deck overview

Blech, Loafing Pest leads a Golgari lifegain and typal swarm deck that transforms incremental life gain into massive board presence. The deck combines efficient creature and token producers—specifically Pests, Spiders, and Insects—with consistent lifegain triggers from soul sisters, lands, and death triggers. Whenever you gain life, Blech distributes +1/+1 counters across your entire swarm, turning fragile 1/1 tokens into lethal threats. Counter doublers like Branching Evolution and Doubling Season rapidly compound this growth. To close games, the deck pivots into decisive overrun attacks using Blossoming Bogbeast or Overwhelming Stampede, while cards like Starscape Cleric and South Wind Avatar provide secondary life-drain pressure. The interaction suite offers flexible permanent removal like Assassin's Trophy and Mortality Spear alongside sweeping wipes like Toxic Deluge. While vulnerable to exile sweepers and lacking blue stack interaction, the deck recovers effectively through redundant token producers, death triggers, and strong alternative anthems like Lisette, Dean of the Root.
